As the World Turns fan favorite Michael Park (ex-Jack) is wowing crowds on Broadway in Dear Evan Hansen. The musical focuses on a letter that was never meant to be seen. Evan Hansen, a high school senior with social anxiety disorder, suddenly finds himself in the middle of a mess following his classmate's death.

Park plays Larry Murphy, a man who becomes a father figure to Evan despite the fact that he is distant with his own children. In an interview with Playbill, Park relates his own high school years to the story surrounding Evan. Here's an excerpt:

“I was lost there for a while. I was a lot like Evan and Jared, [one of Evan's friends, another teen] combined. I wanted everyone to like me.” After the death of his sister when he was a junior, Park was cast as Conrad Birdie in Bye Bye Birdie. “And that’s when my life changed a little bit. People were starting to take notice…and it gave me some solace, in a way, being with that group.”

Dear Evan Hansen is playing at the Music Box Theater in New York City. Tickets are available through November 19, 2017.
