The 44th Annual Daytime Emmy nominations were announced today on The Talk. It was fitting for the CBS Daytime talk show to do the honors since the network leads this year's nominations with 71 nods, including eight for The Talk.

Syndicated programming and Amazon accounted for 50 nominations a piece. PBS grabbed 40 — 10 of those for Sesame Street. ABC Daytime snagged 38 nods, while NBC and Netflix pulled in 36 nods respectively.  The Ellen DeGeneres Show led the syndicated chat pack with eight nominations.

The Young and the Restless netted 25 nominations for CBS. Daytime's top-rated soap is nominated in the Outstanding Drama Series category, as are Days of Our Lives, The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital. All four daytime soaps are also nominated in the Outstanding Drama Series Writing and Outstanding Drama Series Directing categories. The Bay secured 10 nominations in the Outstanding Digital Drama Series category.

GH's Laura Wright (Carly) and Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) are both nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category. They're competing against Y&R's Jess Walton (Jill) and Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) and B&B's Heather Tom (Katie).
