The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks

Oprah Winfrey

Former daytime talk show queen Oprah Winfrey and One Life to Live alum Renee Elise Goldsberry star opposite Rose Byrne in HBO's upcoming movie The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.

The TV movie is based on the real-life story of Henrietta Lacks (Goldsberry). Lacks' cells were harvested without her consent. In the 1970s, medical researchers used them to create the first immortal human cell line, called HeLa. The story is told through her daughter Deborah Lacks (Winfrey) and author Rebecca Skloot.

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks airs April 22 on HBO. Check out the official trailer below and leave your comments!
