The legendary Susan Lucci made a bittersweet return to the world of soaps Sunday night at the Daytime Emmys. The former All My Children star was on hand to kick off a video tribute to her late friend and mentor Agnes Nixon.
Lucci's unforgettable Erica Kane was one of hundreds of soap characters Nixon created. A host of alums from the sudsers Nixon penned paid homage to the broadcasting pioneer during a video that aired after Lucci spoke.
Nixon, who created All My Children and One Life to Live and co-created Loving, passed away in the fall of 2016. Her memoir, My Life to Live: How I Became The Queen of Soaps When Men Ruled The Airwaves, is on sale now.
