Former One Life to Live star Meghann Fahy is getting a lot of attention for her work on Freeform's glossy hit drama, The Bold Type. Fahy portrays Sutton Brady, an editorial assistant at sexy women's magazine Scarlet.

Sutton —best friend of cub writer Jane (Katie Stevens) and social media strategist Kat (Aisha Dee) — is having a secret affair with Richard Hunter (All My Children's Sam Page), a lawyer and board member at Scarlet's parent company.

If Scarlet sounds a lot like Cosmopolitan, it's supposed to. The series is based on the life of former Cosmo editor Joanna Coles. Cosmo even serves as a producer on the series!

Teen bible J-14 recently caught up with Fahy to dish her fun, new gig. Here's what she had to say about her time in fictional Llanview, PA as crazy Hannah O'Connor:

J-14: You next did 81 episodes of the soap opera One Life to Live. The pace of that would be seemingly insane.

MF: It is insane. I was only supposed to do two or three episodes and then I ended up staying on the show for a year. It was an incredible experience. I really learned a lot of useful tools with my time on that show. It's a lot of hard work. You're up early. You're there all day. It moves fast. You have to memorize a bunch of lines really quickly. I think I really honed my memorization skills on that show. Any audition that I have now, I feel like it's easier for me to learn the words because of my time on One Life to Live.

The Bold Type airs Tuesday nights at 9 pm EST on Freeform.
