Allison Janney Wins Best Supporting Actress Oscar

Publish date:

Daytime alum Allison Janney accepted the Best Supporting Actress Oscar statue for her performance as Tonya Harding's mother LaVona in I, Tonya.

When she took the stage she joked, "I did it all by myself" paused, then continued, "That’s nothing farther from the truth."

This is the first nomination and win for Janney, who portrayed a Spaulding maid by the name of Ginger on Guiding Light between 1993-1995.

Janney dedicated her win to her brother Hal, who died in 2011.
