Howdy, folks! Have you missed me? Memorial Day weekend is offering me a few days off from my own soapy pursuits, so I decided to check in on daytime television. Let's take a look at the recent suds ratings, shall we?

Days of Our Lives shows no signs of slowing down following the NBC sudser's damn impressive showing at the recent Daytime Emmys. While DAYS was in last place in total viewers and among households for the week of May 7-11, 2018, it was up a whopping 292,000 viewers over the same time last year. The other three daytime sudsers were all down from the same time last year.

The real story is how DAYS is performing in the female demos this spring. During the week of April 30-May 4, the Corday Productions/Sony TV serial hit No. 1 among W18-49 for the first time since December 2006. During May 7-11, DAYS tied CBS Daytime's The Bold and The Beautiful for No. 2 among women 18-49. DAYS is the only soap not to tie its all-time low in the coveted demo for the week. DAYS' success is keeping General Hospital in last place in both W18-49 and W18-34. GH did eek out a victory among W25-54 with DAYS sitting in last place in that demo for the week. The ABC soap hit a new low among women female viewers 18-49.

As for The Young and the Restless, the Sony/Bell soap just helped CBS Daytime finish its 32nd consecutive week at #1 in the Nielsens. Since I'm behind on my DVR duties, I'll let you do the ranting and raving in the comments. What are you loving, hating and/or loving to hate about your favorite sudsers? Sound off in the comments!
