Ratings, Rants and Raves: Days of Our Lives Continues To Trend Upward

Ron Carlivati started his second year at Days of Our Lives with good news in the ratings department. The numbers for July 9-13 show the lone NBC soap was up 11,000 viewers for the week and 88,000 viewers year to date. (Source: Soap Opera Network). Is this a reflection of the "Summer of Cin" (Victoria Konefal, Robert Scott Wilson)? DAYS tied General Hospital in the women 18-34 demo, continuing a trend in DAYS’ ratings for the past six months.

DAYS wasn't the only soap to have successes. The other three showed some positive movement as well. Although all four gained viewers from week to week, and both DAYS and GH managed to post yearly gains.

The Young and the Restless picked up 58,000 viewers year to date, but lost a staggering 314,000 viewers over the course of the year. During this week Nick (Joshua Morrow) was running around Genoa City as J.T.  Time will tell if the mask reveal will have a positive or negative effect.

The Bold and the Beautiful picked up 47,000 viewers for the week, but it's yearly numbers reflected a drop in 38,000 viewers. Hope (Annika Noelle) revealed her pregnancy and Bill (Don Diamont) was willing to let Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) go. The drop is reflected in the women 18-49 demo as well.

GH popped up 41,000 viewers week to week and 20,000 viewers year to date. Carly (Laura Wright) continued her stay at Ferncliff as Nelle (Chloe Lanier) prepared to marry Michael (Chad Duell). The sole ABC soap posted gains week to week and year to date in the key demos of women 18-49 and 18-34, despite the trials of Peter August (Wes Ramsey).
