Will 'The Royals' Move to Pop?
Could E!'s now-defunct series, The Royals gain new life on another network? Fans of the deliciously sinful drama, the first scripted drama by E!, were devastated when the network announced they were canceling the series starring Elizabeth Hurley after its fourth season. According to reports, it may have a shot at a fifth season. Deadline is reporting Pop may pick the series. Lionsgate TV has been pitching it to its sister network, which happens to be a co-venture between CBS and Lionsgate.
Pop may be The Royals' best bet as the network has been searching for a second signature series to join their current comedy, Schitt's Creek. Lionsgate confirmed their quest to find a new home for the show by voicing on Twitter,
The Royals centers on a modern-day, but fictitious royal family as they plot and scheme against each other while. They also face long-buried secrets all in the name of the crown.
