The "is she returning or not" game many are playing with Julie Chen Moonves and The Talk is over. The moderator is stepping down from the CBS Daytime chat fest. According to Page Six TV's Carlos Greer, Chen Moonves, who has been on the talk show since it debuted in 2010, is resigning. Greer stated,
I’m told she’s going to resign and step down from The Talk. Now it's unclear if this was her decision or not but my sources say they wouldn't be surprised if they asked her to step down.
Greer claims an announcement is expected about Chen Moonves' tenure with the show. On September 10, Chen Moonves said she was taking time off to spend with her family. This came in the wake of her husband Les Moonves' departure from his duties as CBS Corp. Chairman after new allegations surfaced in a report by Ronan Farrow in the New Yorker. In the report, six women accused him of sexual harassment and intimidation.
Chen Moonves made headlines when she recently signed off from an episode of Big Brother as "Julie Chen Moonves". Chen Moonves has never been referred to or has been addressed as such. This prompted many to speculate it was her way of showing support for her husband. The ousted Tiffany network chairman has denied the allegations.
CBS has yet to comment. Watch Page Six TV's report below,
