Margaret Ann "Peggy" McCay has passed away at the age of 90. McCay spend decades as matriarch Caroline Brady on Days of Our Lives. She was a fixture on the show until her last appearance in 2016. During her time on DAYS, McCay was nominated five times for either a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting or Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

McCay got her big break in 1951 as Vanessa Dale on Love of Life (a popular soap that ran from 1951 to 1980). She left in 1955 to expand her horizons. From there, she co-starred in several other shows like Perry Mason, How the West Was Won, and Cagney & Lacey. She also spent some time on other soaps (The Young Marrieds and General Hospital). Her acting career spanned nearly 70 years.

Her death follows that of her onscreen husband Frank Parker (Shawn), who died in late September. Their passings will certainly leave a void in Salem's Brady family. Some of her DAYS coworkers have shared their feelings on Twitter. Here are some of them:
