Kimberlin Brown and Antonio Sabato, Jr.'s Political Aspirations Come to an End
Soap alums Kimberlin Brown and Antonio Sabato, Jr.'s crack at heading to Congress are now over. Both Brown and Sabato, Jr. took a stab at running in California. They both tried to go up against established Democrats as GOP contenders, but on election night this past Tuesday, it wasn't to be.
Brown faced off against incumbent Rep. Raul Ruiz for the 36th. In the end, Ruiz wound up snagging his 4th term with 56 percent of the vote, while Brown netted 44 percent by just over 13,000 total votes. Brown, best known for her popular role as über crazy nurse Sheila Carter on The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, posted to Ruiz on Twitter,
Over at the 26th district, former General Hospital bad boy turned G-man Sabato, Jr. was shut out by Rep. Julia Brownley, who has been serving the area since 2012. Brownley received 59 percent of the votes while Sabato, Jr. garnered 41 percent. The actor released a statement after the votes came in via Twitter saying,
