Judith Chapman was interviewed in the February 4th issue of Soap Opera Digest. The larger-than-life diva did not pull any punches when discussing her old stomping grounds at The Young and the Restless and her new role as Diana on Days of Our Lives.
Chapman filmed a cameo for the Halloween episode on DAYS, as Satan in the form of Anjelica Deveraux - if you haven't watched it, you totally should. After filming, she told the folks at DAYS,
I'm being painfully underused over the hill [at Y&R]. So, if there is anything here for me . . .
Five weeks later she got the call to return, but this time for the role of Diana, where she would be playing the mother of Leo (Greg Rikaart).
When Chapman began filming at DAYS (which films six months in advance) she was still working at Y&R, but she reports that it became,
Too challenging . . . the powers that be at the time decided they didn't want to juggle so Gloria is hanging out in the break room someplace.
When asked to compare the dynamic between Diana and Leo to that of Gloria and Kevin, she notes,
The relationship between Diana and Leo is far more dangerous . . . It's very sinister and ominous.
Look for Chapman to debut on DAYS in the role of Diana on Tuesday, January 29th.
