Corday Productions Files $20 Million Lawsuit Against Sony Pictures Television

Days of Our Lives, Sony

Just a few short weeks after NBC renewed Days of Our Lives for season 55, Deadline is reporting that Corday Productions has filed a massive lawsuit against Sony Pictures Television, Columbia Pictures, and Screen Gems.

The lawsuit seeks over $20 million in compensatory and punitive damages, as well as, significant control of DAYS. The lawsuit accuses Sony of breach of contract and fraud, stating that "treachery" has led to previous seasons of the NBC soap being left "completely unexploited for over five years."

Further, Corday Productions is alleging that decisions were made at the "highest level of Sony management to eliminate any competition to its own wholly-owned series The Young and the Restless, also distributed by Sony."
