The kids from West Beverly High are back! Fox has locked in a deal to bring back the original cast members of the classic Aaron Spelling primetime drama Beverly Hills, 90210. Fox will air the new series called 90210, which brings back Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Brian Austin Green, Tori Spelling, Ian Ziering, and Gabrielle Carteris.
According to Deadline, the crew will star in a six-episode series that will air this summer. Noticeably absent from the series are Luke Perry (Dylan) and Shannen Doherty (Brenda). Perry is currently starring in The CW's Riverdale.
Fear not fans of the mothership. The trade site has revealed, "The door is open" for the two to appear on the show. So, what will the updated series be about? Fox describes it as,
The core cast will all play heightened versions of themselves in a brand-new serialized drama — with a healthy dose of irreverence – that is inspired by their real lives and relationships. Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and Tori reunite when one of them suggests it’s time to get a Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot up and running. But getting it going may make for an even more delicious soap than the reboot itself. What will happen when first loves, old romances, friends and frenemies come back together, as this iconic cast — whom the whole world watched grow up together — attempts to continue from where they left off?
