E! News is investigating the staying power of the soap opera industry with Daytime Drama Deep Dive. Hosted by Giuliana Rancic and Jason Kennedy, the hour-long special features some of the most jaw-dropping storylines discussed by daytime favorites. The Young and the Restless' Eric Braeden recalls when his alter ego Victor Newman made his then-wife Julia's (Meg Bennett) lover eat rats while chained in the basement at the Newman ranch.

Over in Salem on Days of Our Lives, Drake Hogestyn (John) and Deidre Hall (Marlena) recount their most memorable moments like Marlena being possessed by the devil. Hall cracked, 

Possession will be on my tombstone.

Hogestyn and Hall revealed why being in the daytime genre is one of the best places to work, and the gratitude they have for it. Hogestyn stated,
