Legendary Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek stunned the world earlier this year by revealing he was battling stage four pancreatic cancer. Trebek made a video announcing his diagnosis, and how he was going to fight and beat the low survival rate associated with it. Trebek is now keeping true to his word.
Trebek, who has hosted the long-running game show since 1984, spoke with People and shared his doctors have informed him he's "near remission." According to Trebek,
It’s kind of mind-boggling. The doctors said they hadn’t seen this kind of positive result in their memory…some of the tumors have already shrunk by more than 50 percent.
Fantastic! Trebek credits the prayers and well wishes from fans as one of the reason's why he's doing tremendously well with chemotherapy. The host stated,
I’ve got a couple million people out there who have expressed their good thoughts, their positive energy directed towards me and their prayers. I told the doctors, this has to be more than just the chemo, and they agreed it could very well be an important part of this.
