Is General Hospital scribe Michelle "Shelly" Altman departing Port Charles? Set side sources have told yours truly Altman is gearing up to retire from GH this coming fall. Altman took over head writing duties in October 2015, along with Jean Passanante, after replacing Ron Carlivati. In July 2017, Passanante retired and later in October, writer Chris Van Etten was brought on as Altman's co-head writer.
Sources say current breakdown writer Dan O'Connor will join Van Etten as the co-head writer of the long-running sudser once Altman vacates the position. O'Connor's credits include One Life To Live. O'Connor has been with GH since 2013.
