Former daytime talk show host Keke Palmer will star in the upcoming Scream reboot for VH1. The previous two seasons aired on MTV, and after three and a half years, the third season will land over on sister channel VH1. The previous network has moved away from scripted content, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In the third season, the six-episode sophomore series will revolve around Deion Elliot (RJ Cyler), a hometown football star running back whose horrifying past comes back to haunt him. It also threatens his well-crafted plans for his future and the lives of his friends.
Cyler and Palmer star alongside Mary J. Blige, Tyler Posey, Tyga, Giorgia Whigham, Jessica Sula, C.J. Wallace, and Giullian Yao Gioiello. Paris Jackson, daughter of the late Michael Jackson, will also guest star on the series. It is executive produced by Queen Latifah, Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena, and Cathy Konrad. The late Wes Craven is the brains behind the hit franchise and is also listed as an EP of the project.
