Days of Our Lives is getting ready to launch a new digital companion series on its official app. Fans will be able to watch Days of our Lives: The Digital Series, which kicks off August 1 on The DOOL App. It will feature an eight-episode arc called, "Chad and Abby in Paris". Viewers will get to see Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail's (Kate Mansi) life in Paris and what they have been up to since the two departed Salem for the City of Lights. The couple will return to Salem in the fall.
Former Salemite Austin Reed (Austin Peck) will also appear as he has been living in Paris with wife Carrie (Christie Clark). Viewers will be introduced to a new character Juliet (Rachele Schank), who is slated to appear on the mothership show.
Fans will get to watch the first three episodes immediately after the show debuts and watch the remaining five as weekly episodes, which are 6 to 10 minutes long. The series was written by DAYS head writer Ron Carlivati and produced by Corday Productions. Co-executive producer Greg Meng stated about the project,
This new scripted digital series was created to complement storylines while enhancing the viewers experience as they watch the broadcast show. The DOOL App serves as our platform for delivering this and other original content to fans who want an interactive and multimedia experience as well as a way to stay connected to the show. ‘Days’ has been a leader when it comes to innovation, going as far back as 1965 when we were the first to broadcast in color.
Days of our Lives: The Digital Series starts August 1 on The DOOL App.
