Y'all know it had to be a special occasion to bring me out of daytime soap opera ratings analysis retirement! Sheesh. That was a mouthful.

CBS Daytime's The Bold and The Beautiful pulled off a first in its 32-year history the week of August 5-9. The half-hour sudser topped the all-important Women 25-54 demo among all daytime programming. That's right: soaps, game shows and talk shows. You name it; B&B topped it!

The Brad Bell-helmed daytime drama scored a 0.9 in the demo. The week of Aug. 5-9 saw Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) learn their presumed dead daughter Beth was alive, well and being raised by Hope's sister-wife Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Okay, so Liam's warring love interests aren't really sister-wives but they might as well be after sharing this dude for a decade!

Congrats to Brad and the entire team at B&B. Long live the American soap opera! Oh, and can we talk about how little Douglas will most assuredly be a SORASed serial killer by 2021?
