Home and Family Host Cameron Mathison: "I Am Cancer-Free"

Cameron Mathison

Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan, All My Children) is celebrating a personal milestone. After announcing his diagnosis of renal cancer in September, the host of the Hallmark Channel talk show Home and Family has confirmed he is in remission.

Mathison made the announcement while walking the red carpet with wife Vanessa at the American Humane Hero Dog Awards. He recently underwent kidney surgery to remove a tumor. He told Extra (via TheWrap):

"They removed the tumor on my right kidney and in doing so they removed part of the kidney itself and left the majority of it, and when they did the pathology report and they checked the margins around the tumor, all of that was free and clear of cancer and that led them to believe that all the cancer was out and gone. The cancer has not spread…so I am cancer-free.”

After his surgery, Mathison expressed his sincere gratitude to his friends, family, fans, and medical team on social media. Right after his September 12 procedure, he was back on Instagram, posting his appreciation.

Mathison joined Home and Family in 2013. An occasional guest on the program before being hired, he replaced former co-host Mark Steines in the role. Mathison currently hosts the show alongside Debbie Matenopolous, formerly of The View.
