Megyn Kelly Returns to Fox News for Tucker Carlson Interview

Former NBC morning show host Megyn Kelly will return to her old stomping grounds at Fox News this week. Deadline reports that Tucker Carlson will interview Kelly on his show, Tucker Carlson Tonight, on Wednesday, October 16.

Carlson teased:

"She’s got a lot to say, and I hope you’ll watch.”

Kelly made openly racist comments regarding dressing in blackface on Megyn Kelly Today in fall 2018. Not long after, she exited the network and her show ended.

Kelly has also spoken out about former Fox boss Roger Ailes' alleged sexual harassment of his employees, including herself. The Fox controversy has been brought to life in the upcoming feature film Bombshell, starring Charlize Theron as Kelly.

Discussing the recent rape allegations against Matt Lauerformer co-host of The Today Show, Kelly recently spoke out in favor of Lauer's ex-colleagues. She told Page Six:

"Let’s not lose sight of the forces for good in this story, like former Lauer co-host Ann Curry, who, despite the risks, sounded the alarm on Lauer in 2012 after a young woman complained to her, and Meredith Vieira, who, when confronted with Brooke Nevils’ account, told her to go report it.”

In contrast to Kelly, Carlson has openly defended Ailes, calling the late executive "really a great and wise man.” He also avoided covering the allegations against Ailes on his show.

But Kelly is not returning to her conservative homebase permanently. A rep for Fox News Channel informed Mediaite in a statement:

"Megyn Kelly’s forthcoming guest appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight was coordinated weeks ago and is a one-time occurrence. Any future programming changes we are considering do not involve her.”
