General Hospital baddie Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) is taking a break from terrorizing patients to go under the sea. Gatti is starring alongside numerous other soap veterans in the holiday flick A Mermaid for Christmas, the brainchild of Ladies of the Lake, DeVanity, and Winterthorne's Michael and Barbara Caruso.
Gati told Digital Journal:
"The audience is going to love this film. I watched the film a few days ago. I cried, I laughed, and I was so moved by it. It's adorable, it is warm and it is charming. I hope everyone falls in love with it. Stay tuned. It is one of the sweetest films. It is coming soon."
The Yuletide film also features Nadia Bjorlin (ex-Chloe, Days of Our Lives) alongside former co-star Kyle Lowder (ex-Rex/Brady, DAYS/ex-Rick, The Bold and the Beautiful). Bjorlin said to Digital Journal:
"Kyle and I have known each other since we were children, basically. We have an easy time working together and we have such good chemistry. It was a really easy decision to do this. I love Jessica Morris so much, she is so funny, talented and great. I have so many friends in this movie and it is exciting."
Ian Buchanan (ex-Duke, GH; ex-James, B&B), Arianne Zucker (Nicole, DAYS), Sheree J. Wilson (ex-April, Dallas), Jessica Morris (ex-Jennifer, One Life to Live; ex-Crystal, Ladies of the Lake), and Chadwick Armstrong (ex-Trevor, DeVanity) also star. The film is expected to premier this holiday season.
