Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea, The Young and the Restless) is all over our TVs at the moment, and we don't mind it. Besides Y&R, she is also starring in a Hallmark Christmas flick, Holiday for Heroes. She stopped by TV Insider to talk Chelsea's love triangle, child woes, and money troubles in Genoa City.
Chelsea laundered the money she inherited from her most recent husband, Calvin Boudreau (John Burke). Now, Simon Black (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) is threatening to expose her misdeeds - and her lack of cash flow! Egan outlined her character's money problems to TV Insider:
Chelsea had invested a lot of her money into the Grand Phoenix hotel and she had some in a storage unit. Kevin (Greg Rikaart) explained that the bank had seized it before he could "wash" it. All her liquid money is gone – hence her predicament!
Right now, Chelsea is torn between two-time hubby Adam (Mark Grossman) and Adam's half-brother/her current love, Nick (Joshua Morrow). Not to mention she's raising her son with Adam, Connor (Judah Mackey), while Nick is raising Adam's son with his late wife, Sage (Kelly Sullivan): little Christian (Alex Wilson)! These complicated family dynamics spice up the canvas, Egan said:
We’ve got a lot of stuff happening that I can’t give away, but I will say there’s some [Chelsea/Adam] bonding coming up. There’s a situation that comes up with Simon that both Adam and Connor are involved in, and [Chelsea and Adam] deal with something in a way that could either bring them together – or drive them further apart!
Holiday for Heroes premieres Nov. 8 at 9/8 central on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
