Rapper T.I. came under fire this week after revealing that, when he takes his 18-year-old daughter, Deyjah, to the gynecologist, he gets the doctor to make sure her hymen is intact. Despite widespread criticism of the artist born Clifford Harris, Jr., The Real co-host Jeannie Mai spoke out in his favor.
Per Bossip, Mai, who is dating T.I.'s fellow Atlanta rap superstar Young Jeezy, defended the violation:
“I support what T.I. Is doing because I understand how hard it must be to communicate with an opposite gendered daughter, especially in this time."
"“Especially what he must have seen and known, you know? Of what boys are like. And for me, I was a very wild girl, I didn’t like rules, I rebelled a lot…Clearly he is super concerned about today’s world and everything[...]"
Mai then got slammed on social media by understandably upset viewers.
