The Young and the Restless is commemorating actor Peter Bergman's 30th anniversary milestone with the long-running sudser. Back in 1989, Bergman took over the role of playboy cosmetics heir John "Jack" Abbott, Jr. from the late Terry Lester, who exited the role he originated the same year. Bergman went on to make the part his own and nabbed three Daytime Emmy Awards.
On Monday, November 25, Y&R will pay tribute to Bergman's tenure on the show by featuring an episode all about "Old Smilin'" Jack, as the eldest Abbott sibling reads his baby sister Traci's (Beth Maitland) memoir. Viewers will also get a look back at Bergman's career on the number-one daytime drama via classic clips, while Maitland and Eileen Davidson (Ashley) take part in the retrospective.
