The sand is going to continue on through the hourglass. After a week of the mainstream media's frantic posts regarding the status of Days of Our Lives, NBC's lone sudser has been given the green light for a renewal. According to Deadline, DAYS' executive producer Ken Corday just gave the cast the fantastic news, which comes just after a week of them being released from their contracts.
On Nov. 12, the entertainment world and soap fans were stunned when the cast of the long-running drama were released from their contracts. This was an economic move for Corday Productions, while NBC and DAYS' distributors, Sony Pictures TV, negotiated a renewal. Deadline added:
"NBC and Sony TV had no comment. though I had been hearing for the lastpweek [sic] or so that renewal was 'looking good.' According to sources, the deal with the network is not completely done but is close.
