Tamara Braun is speaking out on her exit from General Hospital as Dr. Kim Nero. She spoke to Soap Opera Digest about Kim's drugging and attempted rape of Drew Cain (Billy Miller) after losing their son, Oscar (Garren Stitt), and subsequent relationship with FrankenDrew (Roger Howarth).
Like many viewers, Braun struggled to rationalize Kim's drastic change in behavior. She reflected:
I really struggled with that story point, because to me, it wasn’t even a story point, because it wasn’t explored. I felt that if those were going to be story points that were going to take place, then it needed to be an issue that they explored with intention and handled with care. This is no longer the day where rape turns into everlasting love. And it shouldn’t be. So, for me, I had concerns on a personal level, on a human level.
Braun also expressed that she'd always be up for joining another soap, saying:
Soap has been a big part of my life. It’s a medium I know well, and soap fans follow people; they’ve always followed an actress they like, so I’ve been fortunate in that respect when I’ve gone to different shows.
Where would you like to see the talented Emmy winner appear next? What if she popped up on The Bold and the Beautiful as a psychiatrist colleague of Taylor (Hunter Tylo) who treats - and sexes it up with - Taylor's creepy son Thomas (Matthew Atkinson)?
Alternatively, Braun could play resurrected baddie Ava Vitali opposite "Steveano" on Days of Our Lives (imagine if Ava teamed up with Kristen DiMera?!) And of course, she will always be Carly Corinthos for some GH fans...
