Ratings, Rants, and Raves: General Hospital Gains Viewers When Kim Says "Deuces" to Port Chuck

The ratings for the week of November 25th-29th are in and the tides have turned. (Source: Soap Opera Network). This week, Days of Our Lives is singing the impeachment blues. Let's get into it.

General Hospital wins the award for gaining the most viewers for the week by adding 192,000 viewers (2.219/1.64) as Kim (Tamara Braun) said "deuces" to FrankenDrew (Roger Howarth) and Port Chuck. The ABC sudser did continue to lag from last year, down 208,000 viewers year to year. The demos painted a much rosier picture as GH tied for #1 in the ratings for women 18-49 and topped the total viewers in the all important women 25-54 category!

Sharon Newman, Mariah Copeland, The Young and the Restless

Sharon Case, Camryn Grimes

Fortunes really have reversed as The Young and the Restless gained the second most viewers for the week at 185,000 (3.669 million/2.67) as Sharon (Sharon Case) and company served Thanksgiving dinner to the Genoa City homeless. The CBS sudser did continue to lag quite shockingly from last year, down a staggering 573,000 viewers year to year. The key demos looked better for the #1 soap. They took a hit in women 18-49 and 25-54, but still managed to retain #1 in either rating or total viewers in each of the demos.

Ridge Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful

Thorsten Kaye, Denise Richards

The Bold and the Beautiful didn't have as much to sing about, but still managed to add 86,000 viewers (3.171 million/2.29) as Quinn (Rena Sofer) played voyeur to Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Shauna's (Denise Richards) lip lock. Despite Quinn's kink, the CBS drama shed 259,000 viewers year to year. The key demos were a little more split as B&B retained #1 in women 18-49, but slid to 3rd in women 25-54.

Princess Gina, Stefano DiMera, Days of Our Lives

Stephen Nichols, Kristian Alfonso

The ratings over at DAYS lay in the DiMera tunnels as the NBC drama dropped 74,000 viewers, hitting an all time low in total viewers (1.895 million/1.39) as Princess Gina (Kristian Alfonso) completed her painting and "Steveno" (Stephen Nichols) was revealed. DAYS also dropped a painful 326,000 viewers from last year. Sadly, the key demos did not yield pleasant numbers for the recently renewed NBC drama as it sunk back down to #4 in all key demos.

Well, that's it for another impeachment infused addition of Ratings, Rants, and Raves. As I wrote last week, I'm not sure I would put too much credence in these impeachment impacted ratings.

Nevertheless, we want to hear from YOU! Did these ratings reflect what you saw on your screen? Also, we want to know if you are watching the stories in any other way when they are not airing during their time slot? Sound off in the comments!
