Judge Lynn Toler's Legal Soap Judge Me Not Premieres May 25 on ALLBLK
Judge Lynn Toler is stepping in to the soap game. ALLBLK, AMC Network's popular streaming service which houses Black film and television from the network, announced today Toler has inked a deal where she will write and executive produce the drama Judge Me Not.
The creation by Toler is loosely based on her life. It centers on Zelma Jay Johnson (Chyna Layne), a young, smart Black woman who fights mental health issues and deals with a tumultuous love life and a farcical family. As Zelma is a newly sworn-in judge, she must also deal with a court full of outlandish characters, both in front of, and behind, the bench. Meanwhile, her fiery romance with her live-in love takes a ride when she finds herself caught in the crosshairs of a crazy thriller that puts her life at risk.
Judge Me Not also stars Bonita Brisker, Jonathan Chase, Terrence Green, Gena Shaw, and Javon Terrell. Brett Dismuke, General Manager, ALLBLK & WE said in a released statement:
The honorable Judge Lynn Toler has been a part of the AMC Networks family for quite some time. First, we saw her on WE tv’s Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars; then leading the charge alongside Dr. Ish Major on Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition and hosting her own series, Commit or Quit with Judge Lynn Toler. Now, we have the opportunity to continue our relationship with this new compelling scripted series, as we work together to share Judge Toler’s incredible journey that led to the esteemed gravitas she carries today, in this new ALLBLK original series

Toler also stated:
A municipal court is a fascinating, often amusing, study of human nature. It's where regular people go when they get caught doing irregular things. Judge Me Not presents you with that world through the eyes of a woman who’s not so regular herself.
The series is slated to debut Thursday, May 25.
