Days of Our Lives Recap: Susan’s Return Gives Sarah a Different Perspective on Xander

On today’s Days of our Lives recap:
Sloan’s Digs: Sloan got an update on the adoption from Melinda. She says the process will speed up when they secure their marriage license. Just then, Xander arrives to chat with Sloan. Eric becomes an asshat before Sloan ushers Eric out the door. After he leaves, it’s established Xander wants Sloan to help him full custody of Victoria.
Sloan thinks Xander has a shot at parental rights but has an uphill battle for full custody. Xander thinks Sarah’s multiple baby deceptions should deem her unfit by the courts. She thinks they have a good play on custody if they get a male judge on the bench. Sloan says the whole case will be an uphill struggle. Xander doubles down on his feelings about Sarah’s lack of fitness as a parent and makes his exit.
Horton Square: Sarah is talking to Maggie who has settled Victoria in for a long nap. She thanks Maggie for her help and hangs up. Just then, she sees Susan and freaks out. EJ arrives as Sarah continues to question if her eyes are deceiving her. Sarah realizes all her anger against Xander may have been for naught. EJ tells us all that Xander is still a danger to society, but Susan tells him to cool his jets as his history is filled with dubious deeds. With that, a shaken Sarah exits to tell Maggie the good news.
Susan tries to get EJ to see the light about Ava and Xander. She can’t forget how they’ve changed. EJ pushes back but she makes him swear on her life he won’t bring any harm to them. Susan says she won’t be around to monitor him as she’s headed back to Memphis to be with Roger. They shift back to discussing Edmund as Susan thinks they are similar creatures. EJ shrugs off the comparison and still wonders who delivered Susan to her British captor.
Kiriakis Mansion: Kate arrives to see Kate about going after Sarah. He’s pissed because she asked him for a divorce. Kate is THRILLED! Kate gets all Kate and Rex says he’s a grown ass man who doesn’t need her well-meaning meddling. Kate thinks Rex deserves a wife who isn’t hot for the gardener. She wants Rex to take the out Sarah is giving him. Just then, Sarah returns from the square. Kate gives her the business before making her exit.
Rex apologizes for Kate’s behavior, but Sarah thinks she has a point. She then goes on to say she saw a very much alive Susan Banks in Horton Square. Sarah realizes this change of events gives Xander a leg to stand on in court. Rex asks what this information means for their marriage. Sarah is unmoved and thinks it’s time for them to go their separate ways. He says she can send the divorce papers to Chicago as he’s headed back there. Sarah thanks him for being her bff and Rex exits.
Shin Boarding House: Ava receives a call from Harris and they chat about being sprung from Bayview. She’s happy to know he’s found a place to live and he says next up is getting a job. Tripp comes into the room and listens in on their conversation. After Ava calls Harris “a hero”, she hangs up to chat with her son. She offers to make breakfast for Tripp and Wendy, but he explains she’s at a job interview. He says he’s in love with Wendy and then probes about his mother’s burgeoning relationship with Harris. She says there’s nothing going on besides friendship. Tripp is appreciative of Harris’ help but wonders about how wise it is for his mother to get close to him. Ava reminds Tripp she’s a different person now and is capable of handling her personal business.
Brady Pub: Harris runs into Eric and he says he’s taken over his room. He found pictures of Rachel in the bedside drawer and returns them. Eric asks if Harris has kids and he says “not that I know of” (Foreshadowing?). He says he grew up in Salem and now wants to figure out who he is and how to move forward with his life.
Kate arrives and checks on Harris. They both think it’s a great thing Dimitri was arrested. Eric wishes they’d nabbed Vivian, but Kate says nothing will happen at the Salem P.D. as long as Rafe is in charge. She thinks Harris could be a competent addition to the force. Eric says his goodbyes and makes his exit.

Xander arrives and finds Sarah upset. She updates him about the divorce and says it’s all because of him.
Just as Tripp is exiting to head to work, Harris arrives to see Ava. He thanks Harris for saving their lives but also says his mother doesn’t need to deal with anyone else’s mess. Ava shuts him up and sends him on his way. Harris and Ava hold hands and engage in a kiss.
Marlena arrives at the pub to see Kate. They chat about Harris but Marlena is more interested in how Kate’s doing with Philip’s impending exit. Just then, Rex arrives with a suitcase saying he’s headed back to Chicago. Rex gives her some snarky business but tells his mother she’s getting what she wanted as the divorce will move forward.
Eric arrives back at home and apologizes for his earlier overreaction. Sloan immediately asks about Sarah keeping a child away from him. He understands her actions but explains the pain was long-lasting and not easy to forget.
Sarah says she divorced Rex to keep Xander from making her life hell. She goes on to explain how she just saw Susan. He’s relieved Susan is still in the land of the living. Sarah softens and says she was scared to let him back in before but now her feelings may have shifted.
EJ explains to Susan how long he sat at the cliffs after her accident. He didn’t see anyone that came to retrieve her. Susan wants him to cool his jets but he’s determined to learn the truth.
Someone who appears to be in a denim shirt reads the story of Susan’s resurrection on a tablet.
