Good Morning America Set to Vacate Times Square Studio
Good Morning America is going downtown. The Walt Disney Co. is moving all of its New York properties to a building in the Hudson Square neighborhood in downtown Manhattan. Variety is reporting the move is likely to happen in 2025 for shows such as GMA and Live With Kelly and Mark.
GMA's move to Time Square helped the show's ratings wars against NBC's The Today Show as the two interact with viewers outside the studio and also allowed them to see the show being broadcasted via the large windows. At one point, GMA allowed viewers to come inside the studio for its second hour of the show.
The Mouse House's decision to move studio locations has given some hope that they will keep ABC after Disney CEO Bob Iger implied the company was debating selling off the network.
