The Young and the Restless‘ Summer (Allison Lanier) is facing her feelings for Chance (Conner Floyd)…despite the cop dating her almost-onetime-stepmom Sharon (Sharon Case). Lanier spoke to Soaps.com about Summer getting real regarding Chance after tragedy strikes.
The heiress and the police officer have been bonding, but Summer maybe hasn’t let herself admit how she really cares for him. When he’s in a hospital bed, trying to fight for his life, her feelings come up. Lanier said:
Suddenly, things start to bubble toward the surface. After this, there’s no denying that she does have feelings for him. It sort of lights a fire within her.
Summer’s had a heck of a year, which has seen her mature. Lanier recalled:
She’s gone through such a chaotic year. After watching her mom cause all kinds of drama, that’s kind of the last thing Summer wants in her own life, to be the cause of someone else’s pain. So she’s going to struggle with these newfound feelings.
Lanier added:
It might be a little bit of a slow burn, but the fire has been ignited. And knowing Summer, it’s not going to be easily extinguished.
