Days of Our Lives Recap: Xander and Sarah Agree to Live Together

On today's Days of Our Lives recap:
Xander’s Digs: Sarah awakens to find Xander cooking breakfast. Victoria is still sleeping and Sarah thanks him for letting her stay. They flashback to the previous evening when Victoria had a fever, and they rang in the new year together – with a kiss. In real time, Victoria’s crying interrupts them and Xander goes to check on her.
Xander returns after Sarah has finished breakfast. They engage in some light-hearted banter when Sarah decides it’s time to exit. Sarah gets dressed and wonders if folks will think she’s doing the walk of shame. They get awkward when she’s about to leave when Xander asks if she would consider moving in with him permanently. Sarah is a little worried about leaving Maggie alone with Konstantin. Xander reminds him there are many folks who live at the mansion. They shift to talking about the kiss from the night before and how much they both wanted it.
Shin Boarding House: Tripp arrives home from work and Wendy gushes about their move to China. He seems a little less than receptive and shifts the discussion to her father’s condition. Wendy asks when he’ll be joining and he says he can’t go. Tripp explains he’s worried about his mother. He’s concerned Ava may have returned to her mafia roots, specifically the recent uptick in the local drug trade. His worries began with killing Gil and immediately working with Stefan to manage The Bistro. Wendy understands Ava needs Tripp to watch over her. Wendy is distraught but completely understands as he’s staying for the same reason she’s going.
Wendy wishes she could stay and help support Tripp, but he says he understands. He wants to do long distance and do their best to keep their relationship together. Wendy thinks it could be difficult and doesn’t want to stand in the way of him moving forward. They get adorable with one another and decide to hit the sheets (or the couch) one last time.
They finish up their last time together and Wendy says she’s got a car coming. When Tripp offers to drive her, Wendy says it would be too difficult for her to say goodbye.
Salem PD – Lobby: Justin says EJ convinced the judge Tate is a flight risk and had his bail revoked. All the grown folks express their irritation, when Tate asks what’s going to happen to him. Justin says he will file an appeal and do everything he can to change the judge’s decision. Just then, EJ arrives with a smile on his face and a spring in his step.

Rafe holds Brady back before he can go after EJ, who continues to taunt everyone. EJ drives back onto self-righteous avenue and explains how Holly is an innocent girl corrupted by the child of drug addicts. He turns ugly saying he’s going to charge Tate as an adult for almost killing Holly. Alex pipes up saying they should have gone with his lawyer since the judge was in EJ’s pocket. EJ loses his cool and Alex gets up in his face. Tate begs Theresa to not let EJ send him to jail. Brady and Theresa say they are going to fight like hell to get him out. EJ says even if the drugs weren’t Tate’s, he hesitated to call 911 which led to Holly’s complications (Dear EJ, not calling 911 is not a crime. XOXO – Josh).
Rafe sends an officer with Tate to get him out of his suit. When Justin exits, Theresa agrees with Alex about getting another lawyer.
Salem PD – Interrogation Room: Rafe pulls EJ into the room and asks why he’s being so cruel and vindictive to Tate. EJ counters he doesn’t understand why he and Rafe are on opposite sides. Rafe says they’ve never been on the same side. Even so, Tate is just a kid. EJ ups the anti and suggests Tate may have spiked Holly’s drink with drugs. Rafe scoffs and says he’s going to the high school to investigate. He asks EJ to think about Johnny at Tate’s age in the same situation (that would be called empathy).

Endings
Xander promises to be a “proper gentleman” if she moves in. Sarah agrees to give it the old college try and Xander hands her a set of keys.
Wendy’s car arrives and she and Tripp kiss. She leaves and stand on either side of the store all up in their feelings.
Tate returns dressed in jail denim and hugs Theresa. Brady tells his son to have faith Holly will wake up and Justin says he’ll support him from the outside. Theresa and Brady tell Tate they love him when Rafe returns to take him away. EJ pipes up with more taunting tomfoolery before Rafe cuffs Tate and takes him away.
