Days of Our Lives Recap: Everett Sees Jada and Slinks Away

On today’s Days of Our Lives recap:
The Spectator: Everett sits at his desk trying to piece together what he knows about the drug case. He goes through all the players and then gets distracted thinking about Stephanie.
Brady Pub: Stephanie arrives for her meet up with Jada. Just then, Rafe arrives and takes a seat. Stephanie says she was meeting with her new clients at The Bistro. Rafe says he was held up by the drug ring case. They agree to not talk about business and focus on embarrassing personal stories.
Stephanie begins saying she’s still swearing off men but it’s difficult as she works with two of her ex-boyfriends. Rafe and Jada knew about Chad but not the other one. Stephanie explains the other man was her ex-boyfriend from Seattle. Jada notes she used to live out there, as well. They both lament about their failed Seattle relationships.
Rafe heads to the bar to grab more drinks leaving Stephanie and Jada to talk about how wonderful he is and how horrid Jada’s ex-husband was. Jada goes on to says she found a charge from the jewelry store on his computer which freaked her out as he hadn’t bought her anything of the kind. Afterwards, they had a huge fight beyond anything before. It was at that point she knew their relationship was over. Just then, Rafe returns and Stephanie gets a call from Everett. She walks away from the table, and he asks if he can email a copy of his latest story about the drug crisis. Stephanie says she’s at the pub with friends and asks him to join. He agrees and heads that way.
Stephanie returns to the table, and they all discuss the upcoming scavenger hunt. Just then, Everett arrives and sees Jada sitting at the table. He quickly backs out and sends Stephanie a text saying he can’t make it and to call him later.
Xander and Sarah’s Place: Sarah arrives home as Xander is cooking dinner. She notices he set the table and Xander says he made steak pie. Sarah is impressed by Xander’s domestic side. He says he just wanted to make Sarah happy.
They sit down to eat and discuss the events of their days. They talk about their respective salaries and Sarah feels the need to, once again, drive down self-righteous lane and throw Xander’s past in his face. He assures Sarah being a good father for Victoria is his only priority.
Sarah and Xander down their wine and realize they’ve consumed the whole bottle. Sarah thinks they should break out the whiskey and drink it out of his special cups. She says she’s impressed with how domestic he’s become and Xander compliments her in kind. With that, they begin to sip their whiskey. Xander begins to quote Robert Burns and Sarah is mesmerized. With that, they begin to passionately kiss.
Marlena’s Office: Alex arrives to find Marlena doing paperwork. She agreed to see him after hours as she thought Alex sounded like he needed a session. Alex says he needs to update her on his relationship with Theresa. He explains about Theresa trying to leave town and how he persuaded her to stay. Alex notes they had sex after she decided to stay and then checks himself saying they “made love.”

Alex catches Marlena up on Theresa falling off the wagon and how he and Brady helped. He tells Marlena how being vulnerable and feeling so much for Theresa scares him. Marlena pushes and Alex says he thinks he’s never felt for a woman the way he feels for Theresa. He says he’s wanted women before but never needed one. Marlena thinks she understands his feelings. She thinks Alex is in love. Marlena thinks she probably feels the same way but he needs to tell her.
University Hospital – Lobby: Theresa arrives and tries to avoid seeing Kayla. As she tries to scoot out, Kayla looks up and calls her niece over. She wants Theresa to catch her up on what’s going on in her life. They speak about her addiction and recovery and Kayla says Kimberly filled her in on Theresa’s recent slip. Kayla thinks Kimberly wants the best for her daughter but wonders why she decided not to return to California. Theresa explains Alex helps ground her as they’re both self-aware. They’re going to take care of each other. Theresa goes on to say she felt a connection with Brady when she fell off the wagon and thought, for a moment, she wanted him back. Alex persuaded her otherwise. Kayla thinks she’s in love with Alex and Theresa agrees. Theresa goes on to tell Kayla how she was originally using Alex to make Brady jealous and then fell for him.
Kayla picks up on Theresa’s guilty feelings and wonders what she’s done. She deflects saying it’s about her past mistakes and nothing she’s done recently. Kayla thinks she’s suffered enough for her past and says she should move forward by making amends with the people she’s hurt. Theresa agrees and promises to make things right.

Endings
Alex thanks Marlena for her time. She advises him to move slowly with Theresa. He confirms he’s in love and Marlena almost coos with glee.
Theresa says Kayla has made her realize she needs to make amends. Kayla says she loves Theresa and pulls her into a hug.
Xander tells Sarah they shouldn’t go to the bedroom. Sarah can’t believe he’s turning her down, but Xander says he doesn’t want to screw things up. She understands and they both agree it’s ironic he’s the voice of reason. Sarah says she loves him… for being the voice of reason and they embrace.
Stephanie says she has to go and hugs Jada and Rafe good night. After she leaves, Jada says it’s disappointing they didn’t get to meet Stephanie’s man.
Outside the pub, Stephanie calls Everett and he apologizes for standing her up. He says he’s in his room at the Salem Inn and asks her to come over so they can talk.
