Days of Our Lives Recap: Everett Goes Upside Eric’s Head

On today’s Days of Our Lives recap:
Brady Pub: Roman tells Ava he’s glad she was able to come in after her illness the day before. He tells her how well she’s worked out and says she’s officially off her trial period, as Kate leers nearby.
Kate approaches and asks Roman to take a break. Ava thanks Roman for the job and exits. Kate is none too thrilled with the situation. Just then, Eric enters looking for some pumpkin pie. Roman heads out to grab the dessert as Ava returns to give Kate a glass of wine. Kate looks at Ava and tells her to keep on the straight and narrow or she’ll make certain Roman throws her out on her ass.
Ava takes a seat and reminds Kate she doesn’t entertain threats. Kate says her words are a promise and, unlike Harris, her word is good. Kate goes on to explain she’s pissed at Harris because he promised to help Lucas and has left him hanging. She tells Ava to light a fire under Harris’ ass or else. Ava smiles at Kate’s continued threats. Kate looks her in the eye and says despite her now respectable last name, Ava has no idea what she’s capable of.
Roman returns and immediately understands how annoyed Kate is by Ava’s presence. Kate says she doesn’t trust her, just as Steve arrives looking for Ava. She walks up, Roman says she can take a break, and they head outside.
The Spectator: Everett reviews the story on Paulina when Leo enters and compliments him. He’s annoyed he has so little for his own column this week. Leo says he had a story but killed it. Just then, Stephanie arrives with scoop for Everett. She reports Paulina fired EJ and replaced him with Melinda. Everett asks Stephanie to get a drink and they she entices Leo to join them.
Sloan and Eric’s Digs: Sloan tells EJ he’s not taking Jude anywhere and reminds them about their deal. EJ says he’s going back on his word because he saw Eric and Nicole kissing that very night. He thinks the kiss changes everything and believes Sloan will agree with him. EJ explains what happened and how neither Eric nor Nicole saw him view the kiss. Sloan wonders how they can stop the duo from getting closer. EJ thinks returning Jude to Nicole will shift her focus to the baby. She’ll quit her job and have no time to fixate on Eric. Sloan thinks it’s a great plan but reminds him Jude is not his son. EJ says Nicole will never know. Sloan says if he tries to go through with this plan, she’ll sing like a canary (These two SIZZLE).
EJ warns Sloan he will have her brought up on all kinds of charges if she dare challenge him. Sloan counters saying if she goes along with his plan she will lose Eric and be brought up on charges. EJ promises he’ll help her get out of the country and set her up with a huge bank account (Where is Melinda?). If she refuses, EJ says they’ll go down together. However, he won’t be at risk of going to prison.
EJ makes a dramatic production of repeating his offer. Sloan says she needs more time and EJ gives her 24 hours. She says she will do anything and EJ says she’s already done enough. Sloan reminds EJ that she had a miscarriage which devastated Eric. Sloan jumps up and says Nicole will leave him if she ever finds out he lied about the baby’s paternity. She thinks he’s prolonging the inevitable. With that, EJ leaves and Sloan leans down over Jude’s crib.
Black Patch: Chad arrives and hands Steve a file on Clyde Weston. He’s losing sleep with Clyde on the loose and Steve promises they’ll get him. Chad says he thinks he’s found new evidence and hands Abigail’s notebook to Steve. Chad believes his dearly departed wife was working on something big which means she may have been Clyde’s original target. Steve recalls his target was Belle. Chad thinks Clyde’s reasoning for targeting Belle made no sense but Abigail’s notes make it make sense.
Sloan and Eric’s Digs: Eric returns and finds Sloan and Jude gone. He texts her for an update. Just then, Roman calls and says Sloan dropped Jude off with him. She didn’t say where she was going but he thought the two of them were together.

Small Bar: Stephanie and Everett are doing tequila shots and relishing the story Paulina fed them about EJ being fired. Leo is annoyed by the giddy duo as he sees no lonely hot men. He goes on to talk about a hot, new Spanish guy he’s scouting. Leo says he’s been learning Spanish as he and Dimitri were supposed to go there on their honeymoon (Hmmm… so many Dimitri mentions. Come back!). Stephanie wants to change the subject and changes the topic to what they will eat. Leo looks at them and thinks they are adorable. He wonders if they’ve figured out their relationship. Everett says they’re just friends but… He goes on to fill Leo in on some highlights from their history. Leo wonders what sort of straight tomfoolery is happening. He looks up and orders more tequila for the lovestruck couple.
Leo walks around the corner and finds Sloan drinking her troubles away. He asks about Jude who is in no mood to talk. He returns to his seat as Sloan asks for another drink. Leo, Stephanie and Everett look at her with growing interest.
Everett and Sloan drunkenly ask for more drinks from their separate tables. Stephanie isn’t certain but Leo thinks Everett is way more relaxed when he’s soused. Just then, Eric enters and encounters his drunken wife. He tries to take her drink but she takes it back and says she’s not leaving. Everett watches as Sloan loudly refuses to go with Eric. Something sparks in his brain (which we know because of the echoes).
Horton Square: Steve asks Ava about the “permanent solution” for the Clyde Weston problem. Steve wants to confirm her desire to off him.
DiMera Mansion – Living Room: Chad asks EJ for guidance and tells him about Abigail’s notebook and how it could relate to her murder. EJ doesn’t tell Chad he’s been fired and entertains the discussion. EJ looks through the notebook as Chad says he thinks Abigail was planning to out Clyde’s connection to the drug ring. He thinks Abigail was actually Clyde’s target and blames himself. EJ says all fault lies with Clyde. Chad understands but thinks Clyde killed his wife in cold blood and wants him to pay. EJ offers his assistance and says he will do whatever is necessary to bring him down. Chad asks for one more favor…

Roman and Kate look at Jude. Roman says he’s sad he wasn’t around to see Eric grow up. Kate is supportive and relates by talking about Lucas.
Steve tells Ava it won’t matter if Clyde is brought in dead or alive. After Steve leaves, Ava calls Harris and asks about decrypting the black book.
Chad and EJ enter the room where Abigail was murdered (Chad immediately flashes back to the night of the murder and the days that followed).
Everyone watches intently as Eric tells Sloan he doesn’t want her to make a scene. Sloan counters HE is the one making the scene. Leo gets up to help Eric with Sloan as Stephanie asks Everett if he’s ok. Sloan tells both of them to get lost and Eric asks what’s wrong. Sloan continues to be belligerent, and Everett tells Stephanie he’s going to hurt her. Eric grabs Sloan just before Everett approaches and goes upside his head.
