On today’s Days of Our Lives recap:

DiMera Mansion – Living Room: Marlena is with Johnny celebrating his birthday and gives him a gift. She asks if the birthday party on the set was a surprise. He admits it was but not a good one. Johnny goes on to tell her all about his boneheaded move thinking Chanel was having an affair. He has no clue if his wife will ever forgive him.

Paulina and Abe’s Place: A tearful Chanel thanks Abe for letting her stay. She only hopes he doesn’t blame himself for her marital mess because he cast her opposite Alex on Body & Soul. Abe tries to cut the tension by noting Seth Burns’ role in the debacle. Chanel says none of that matters as Johnny should have trusted her enough to know she would never cheat on him, and that’s on period.

University Hospital – Lobby: Seth approaches Stephanie saying she’s working on the press release for Body & Soul’s debut. He says how sorry he is for the mess he created. Stephanie pushes him for an actual explanation which leads Seth to quickly make his exit.

Kiriakis Mansion: Alex asks Bonnie if Justin is around. He asks if his dad knows about what happened between him and Stephanie. Bonnie notes half of Salem knows and thinks it will be in all the rags the following day.

Body & Soul HQ: Joy arrives to see Kate, who says she was impressed with her audition. She tells Joy she has officially been cast as Reagan and starts tomorrow.

Salem Inn – Leo’s Room: Leo gets the news about Joy’s casting and learns he needs to crank out new pages. He yawns as he begins to write the new scenes. Leo falls asleep as he begins to write…

Leo’s Dream: In what I assume is Leo’s dream, we have been transported to Pineview.

Brady Pub: Faith and Arrow (Chanel and Alex) are talking about how his mother’s death brought them back together. Just then, Reagan (Joy) barges in saying she’s Arrow’s wife. (We’re actually in some weird in between space where we’re in Pineview but the actors are actually still checking their scripts…)

(Why does Faith suddenly have a southern accent?) Reagan says she’s the only one who knows how to give Arrow what he wants. With that, Reagan pulls Arrow into a very forced and uncomfortable kiss.

Commissioner Marshall’s Place: Commissioner Marshall (Abe) is on the phone when Faith arrives saying her life is over. (Apparently, Faith and Commisioner Marshall are daughter and father). She says her beloved is actually married. Faith thought they were actually going to be together, but everything has now gone to hell.

Brady Pub: Arrow tells Reagan he’s now with Faith and they can’t be canoodling. Reagan says they brought her character back just in time as nothing is more boring than a couple’s happiness. With that, Arrow exits to find Faith. Reagan picks up a knife and makes mention of Faith.

Commissioner Marshall’s Place: Commissioner Marshall says everything is going to work out with Arrow and exits. Just then, a masked figure (Salem Serial Killer) knocks at the door and flashes a knife. The next thing we see is Faith on the ground with a bloody knife by her side. Arrow arrives and kneels at her side hoping beyond hope she’s not dead (of course he picks up the knife). He wonders aloud who stabbed her. Just then, Commissioner Marshall arrives and assumes Arrow stabbed Faith.

Commissioner Marshall says he knows what Faith learned about Arrow’s marriage to Reagan. Arrow believes Reagan is responsible just as Detective John Hobson (Johnny) arrives on the scene to investigate the murder. The detective says he recognizes Arrow as the necktie killer. Arrow calls him an idiot saying it’s not even the right storyline (I don’t know what’s happening either). Just then, the detective finds Arrow’s bag with the mask in it. Arrow thinks it was planted but the detective arrests him.

Salem PD: Detective Hobson halls Arrow to the station. Arrow says he knows he’s being set up as the good detective has always been in love with Faith. Just then, Arrow screams and does some foolishness. The next thing we know, Detective Hopson is behind bars and Commissioner Marshall is asking what happened. He opens the cell and lets him out.

Cassandra’s Mansion: Cassandra reads the story of Arrow’s arrest when suddenly her son arrives on the scene. Arrow says he’s in terrible trouble and Cassandra says she knows as she’s been reading all about it in the Pineview Plunger (for the love…). He says he believes he’s being framed by Reagan and the Pineview PD. Cassandra notes how the begonia brought her back to life. Maybe it can do he same for Faith.

University Hospital: Cassandra arrives and sends Seth to do her bidding. Just then, Arrow arrives and she explains how they will try to bring Faith back to life.

Cassandra’s Mansion: Commissioner Marshall and Detective Hopson find the handcuffs and they both wonder where Cassandra and Arrow got off to.

University Hospital: Cassandra is now in an exam room. She turns around and screams bloody murder as the masked figure arrives, knife in hand, and attacks her. Arrow arrives and finds his mother dead on a gurney. Just then, the commissioner and detective arrive and find Arrow hugging his dead mother.

In the lobby, Arrow continues to say Reagan is setting him up when we cut to her bloody and dead on the floor. The commissioner says, “she’s been plunged.” Arrow escapes and the detective chases after him.

Miranda’s Pad: Arrow barges in and Miranda (Stephanie) says she was trying to reach him as she’s read about all the recent “plunging” happenings. Arrow swears he’s being framed, and she believes him. He asks if she spoke to Reagan when she got back to town. Miranda says Reagan spoke horrible words about Arrow but she’s always been vengeful and bitter. Further, Reagan had a partner in crime.

University Hospital: Arrow returns and tells Dr. Lamoray he believes Charlemagne is still alive and is responsible for all the recent death. The good doctor doesn’t believe him but Arrow believes Dr. Lamoray used the begonia juice to revive Charlemagne. The good doctor says he was just following orders. Just then, the masked figure reemerges. The next thing we see, Arrow is calling the police to report Dr. Lamoray’s murder. He also tells them Charlemagne is still alive and the police should head to her mansion ASAP.

Charlemagne’s Mansion: The commissioner and the detective arrive when suddenly Charlemagne arrives on the scene.

Miranda’s Place: Arrow returns to find Miranda dead. Detective Hopkins arrives and finds Arrow by Miranda’s dead body. Arrow runs and Detective Hopson chases him, yet again.

Charlemagne’s Mansion: The commissioner says the detective is confirming her alibi for the murders as they speak. The commissioner apologizes for the inconvenience. Just then, the masked figure emerges from the tunnels.

Arrow arrives on the scene to find Charlemagne and the commissioner dead. Once again, Arrow stupidly picks up the knife just as, the out of breath, Detective Hopson arrives on the scene. He can’t imagine who the killer is if everyone else is dead. Arrow thinks the good detective is the culprit. Just then, the masked figure arrives, yet again. As Arrow begs him to turn around, the masked figure plunges a knife into the good detective. Arrow asks who the masked figure is and why they’re committing all of the murders.

Weivnip: Arrow awakens on a bench and wonders where he is. Just then, his dead mother arrives on the scene. He doesn’t understand (and isn’t the only one). Cassandra says “they’re all alive.” (I see we’re duplicating Melaswen… for those who didn’t watch, type it into YouTube and enjoy the ride). Arrow looks around and sees everyone who “died” during the episode. Faith and Miranda emerge saying they all just woke up in this place and have no clue where they are. Just then, Lorna arrives and welcomes them all to “Weivenip.”

They all thought Lorna was dead. Cassandra asks what “Weivnip” is and Lorna says it’s Pineview spelled backwards (as screwy as this whole episode is, the detail is damn near perfect). Arrow says everyone in Pineview is dead, who could possibly be behind everything. They all begin to speculate who is playing God with their lives. Just then, Leo arrives and says he is responsible as he is the head writer. Reality is what he says it is. Just then, the “plunger” returns and it’s Dr. Marlena Evans. She begins to take him away to get dead. Just then, Leo awakens and realizes it was all a dream. Just then, there’s a knock at the door. He opens it to find the masked figure there with the knife.

Endings

Leo is lying on the floor stabbed as Kate and Abe arrive on the scene. Kate declares, “that’s what happens when you write yourself into a corner.” The masked figure reveals herself to be Stephanie and she guesses they’re all happy they didn’t fire her as their publicist. Kate and Abe thinks killing off the head writer before the show airs was a touch of brilliance. No one cares about the writer.

Leo actually awakens realizing he was only dreaming. Just then, there’s a knock on the door.

At the hospital, Johnny approaches Alex and apologizes. Alex says the only person who needs an apology is Chanel. Just then, Chanel walks up behind them and Alex heads off to run lines. Chanel notices Alex actually has his wedding ring on. Johnny says he was an idiot and wants them to try to move past his idiocy.

Leo asks who’s outside the door and he hears Abe’s voice. He opens the door and Abe only wants to find out if he knows about the new cast member.

Kate walks up as Johnny is trying to work things out with Chanel. She wants to introduce the new bad girl cast member. With that, she introduces Joy Wesley.
