Days of Our Lives Recap: Javi and Leo Have a Flirty First Encounter

On today’s Days of Our Lives recap:
University Hospital – Lobby: The nursing staff applauds when Jada accepts Rafe’s marriage proposal.
Hernandez Central: Gabi returns and tells Javi she’s getting a divorce. Javi doesn’t want her to give up but Gabi says her former beloved has left town. She tells him about the goodbye letter Stefan left EJ and Javi says how sorry he is. Just then, Jada and Rafe arrive and announce their engagement. Gabi puts on a smile as Javi and his crop top is introduced to his future sister-in-law. Javi admires his mother’s ring on Jada’s finger and asks how Rafe proposed. Jada explains about the hospital proposal and the circumstances that led up to it. Rafe reveals they are discussing Vivian Alamein. Gabi avoids the topic and wants to celebrate. With that, Rafe and Jada head off to get ready leaving Javi and his crop top to comfort Gabi.
Jada gets dressed but Rafe thinks they’re both have too many clothes on. With that, they begin to make out and head to the bedroom.
Horton Square: Stephanie and Joy are chatting about her social media presence. Stephanie warns her that she might get some negative reactions for her character’s home wrecking ways. Joy says she has thick skin and can handle what the fans throw at her.
Nancy arrives and congratulates Joy on her new role on Body & Soul. She warns her daughter to be careful and recounts the story of Alex and Stephanie almost being fired for sleeping together on the set. Joy is annoyed her mother assumes she’ll be hoe-ish on set. Nancy wastes no time reminding her daughter about finding the wedding ring in her room. She just doesn’t want Joy to get in her own way. With that, Nancy grabs Joy so they can find a place for her to live.
Small Bar: Leo is crafting another script for Body & Soul when Alex arrives. They chat about Stephanie and Alex says they’ve had to cool off because Kate almost fired them for sexing up the hospital set. Leo wishes he could find love as easily as Alex does. Just then, Stephanie arrives on the scene. She realizes she was the subject of Leo and Alex’ conversation. With that, they leave Leo to his writing.
Javi arrives and takes a seat next to Leo. They engage in a bit of flirtation and drink sharing. Javi asks about Leo’s work, and they get flirtier before introducing each other. Just then, Gabi arrives and gets in between them.
Gabi pulls Javi away from the table and says Leo is “a total creep.” She explains about Leo getting between Will and Sonny and says he’s done more horrible things than she can describe. Javi thinks she’s exaggerating leading Gabi to provide more details, however, he’s more focused on his cute new friend. Just then, Jada and Rafe arrive looking a mess. Javi says he’ll grab some champagne. Gabi tries to stop him but Javi heads off to grab drinks and reconnect with Leo.
Javi retakes his seat and Leo asks about Gabi. They establish their relationship and Leo rightfully assumes his cousin gave him an earful. Javi says he doesn’t scare that easily and kind of likes a bad boy. Leo says he likes whatever kind of boy Javi is and asks for his number.

Stephanie and Alex discuss their complicated situation and the many misunderstandings they’ve had. Alex wonders if she might want more than just friends with benefits. Stephanie says it doesn’t matter as their jobs are on the line. Neither of them seems thrilled with the prospect of going back to being great friends.
DiMera Mansion – Living Room: Chanel and Johnny arrive home, and he asks if they’re ok when she is quite icy. She tries to head upstairs when Johnny stops her. Johnny says he’s disgusted by his behavior and apologizes again for what he said. Chanel says it’s not easy to just move along after accusing her of being unfaithful. Johnny says he will do whatever he can to make things right. Chanel says she’s angry but isn’t ready to throw away their entire marriage. Besides, it’s not like either one of them actually cheated on the other. Johnny says there’s something he needs to tell her (cue the flashback to Joy returning Johnny’s wedding ring).
Chanel inquires about what Johnny wants to tell her. Johnny chickens out and promises to never hurt her again (uh-oh). With that, Johnny says he wants to take Chanel out for a little dinner-breakfast. She agrees and Johnny heaves a sigh of relief.
Brady Pub: Johnny and Chanel enjoy their dinner-breakfast and the mood has become friendlier. Johnny decides it’s a good idea to thank Chanel for throwing him a surprise party, which brings them back to a bad place. He’s sorry for ruining the party and Chanel kids saying they should stay away from surprise parties. Just then, Nancy and Joy arrive on the scene.

Johnny promises Nancy he’ll help show Joy the ropes. Nancy asks if they’ve seen Roman as she was hoping to rent Joy a room. Chanel invites the duo to join her and Johnny. With that, they take a seat. Chanel says they are more than happy to take Joy under their wing…
Rafe and Jada are being overly affectionate and then apologize to Gabi for being over the top. Just then, Stephanie arrives having noticed Jada’s new ring! Jada flashes it and says they’re engaged. Stephanie and Jada promptly head over for a private conversation.
Rafe takes the opportunity to ask Gabi for details about Stefan and the divorce. Gabi explains how Stefan left Salem and says good riddance. She turns the topic and says it’s time to celebrate her brother and his new bride. Just then, Javi arrives with drinks and turns up the music. As everyone celebrates, Leo sits to the side and gets a text from Javi.
Johnny, Chanel, Joy and Nancy enjoy a very awkward meal…
