Days of Our Lives Recap: EJ Offers Joy Cash Money to Get Gone

On today’s Days of Our Lives recap:
DiMera Mansion: EJ answers the door and sees Gabi who is there to grab some of her things. EJ stops her from going upstairs and demands an apology. Gabi scoffs as she recounts all the ways he’s injured her. In fact, he owes her an apology. They get heated as they trade jabs (these two just sizzle). Gabi ignores EJ’s refusal to let her go upstairs and marches right past him. Gabi comes back down with a bag, she and EJ yell at each other, and she exits. Just then, Johnny, Chanel and Joy arrive.
DiMera Mansion – Living Room: EJ pours Joy a drink and briefly inquires about her return to town before telling her it’s time for her to leave.
Brady Pub: Outside, Javi calls Rafe and says the pub is closed for a private event. Rafe sends him over to the Salem Inn when Leo approaches. He tries to explain, yet again, but Javi has no time for his foolishness. Leo continues saying he thought they had a real connection. Javi says he doesn’t put up with that type of treatment from anyone and exits.
Alex walks out of the pub and finds a dejected Leo sitting on the bench. He says he came outside as things were getting a little awkward with Stephanie also being inside. Alex explains about Philip’s presence and learning about their prior engagement. Leo commiserates saying he’s currently the cause of his own problems. He explains all about Javi and the issues with the new Lady Whistleblower. Alex says his main goal should be to find out who is spilling Body & Soul’s secrets. Just then, Alex gets a text from Justin to head back in. He invites Leo but he decides to get busy on straightening out his personal and professional life.
Paulina and Abe’s Place: Chanel arrives to uphold their yearly tradition of a chocolate treat. They chat a bit about the tainted cupcakes and Johnny and Abe’s mutual recoveries. Paulina gripes about Johnny and Chanel snaps at her telling her to stay out of her marriage. Chanel says she has put his cruel words in the past and has gotten beyond it. Further, she says Johnny being sick made her realize just how much she loves him. He made a mistake and it’s not like he cheated on her… Paulina says her happiness is all that matters. With that, Chanel decides to make her exit, so she isn’t late for dinner.

Horton Square: Joy is chatting with Nancy who asks her about the married man, as Johnny listens in. She hangs up with her mother and chats with Johnny about her recent encounter with Chanel. He’s freaked out she told Joy about him talking in his sleep. Joy awkwardly admits she told Alex about their dalliance. Johnny freaks out as Alex and Chanel are now friends. Joy is certain Alex will keep quiet. Just then, Chanel approaches.
Johnny lies saying he and Joy were discussing the tainted cupcakes. Chanel mentions the former case of tainted cupcakes that originated at Sweet Bits. They move along to discussing different Thanksgiving plans for the evening. Chanel asks Joy about her plans and insists she come with them to the DiMera mansion. Joy says she she prefers to be alone, but Chanel won’t take no for an answer.
Hernandez House: Javi arrives home, and he and Rafe get a little playful. Javi then recounts his encounter with Leo. Just then, Jada arrives home. Javi watches on as Rafe tells Jada he got a new job. Rafe says he is Black Patch’s new field operative and they all cheers to him. Javi awkwardly says Jada doesn’t have to feel guilty for stealing her boyfriend’s job. Javi pulls Jada in and says he’s only teasing.

Gabi arrives home just in time for dinner. As she catches up with Rafe, Leo arrives. Javi is surprised when he’s there to see Rafe. Leo congratulates him on his new job and promptly hires Black Patch to find out the identity of the new Lady Whistleblower.
Joy asks why she should leave town and EJ admits he knows about their night at the Salem Inn. She thinks he’s asking her to leave the mansion, but EJ corrects her saying she needs to leave town. Joy says she has a job and responsibilities but EJ indicates he’ll pay her what she needs and will want for nothing. Before they can finish their conversation, Johnny and Chanel arrive, and note the tension. They all head off for dinner but not before EJ grabs Joy and urges her to take his deal.
